Elora’s Sensational Fundraising Events Return Thanksgiving Weekend

ELORA- After two years of cancellations, Thanksgiving fundraising events return to the Wellington Center on Thanksgiving weekend.

Pumpkin Day: a free family event will be held Saturday, October 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Bissell Park next to the Elora Farmers Market: the day is a celebration of the end of the harvest season and features activities and entertainment free for children. the whole family including:

Family Pumpkin Carving with Prizes, Face Painting, Expert Giant Pumpkin Carver, Mapleton Organic Ice Cream, Bouncy Castle, Music from Turk and the Hobbitt, Highland Dancing, Bubbleology and a Reptile Show!

It’s all free – with food bank donations welcome.

The sensational soup and vacuum bowls: will take place on Thanksgiving Monday, October 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.

This is Sensational Elora’s flagship event to address food insecurity in Center Wellington.

Organizers say it’s a fantastic way to share the Thanksgiving spirit and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

In Sensational Elora’s first 12 years of operation (pre-pandemic), the event raised over $120,000 which was split between the Wellington Center Food Bank and the Breakfast Program. Wellington Center District High School.

Sensational Elora welcomes new volunteer soup makers in all three categories, including Professional, Amateur and Youth.

The winner of each category will receive a handmade soup ladle from Metallic Evolution and the title of “Super Souper of the year”.
